Pamper weekends; a past-time I rarely indulge in, but when I do I kinda like to go all out. The scrubs, the nails, hair and all that jazz. I’ve procured a few recent favorites that I’ve found myself reaching for come pamper time!
I’ve been a huge fan of Balance Me since I first started using their radiance face oil about a year ago and haven’t looked back since. I hit the shower with the newly reformulated & repackaged Super Toning Body Wash which features a blend of geranium, lavender, juniper and bergamot essential oils. I’m a HUGE fan of perfume with notes of bergamot so this shower wash is ideal for layering scents.
Since it’s summer, I’ve switched to using body oils instead of the butters ( I find oils much lighter in the summer – absorbs MUCH easier into my skin) and I’ve started using the Super Toning Body Oil which carry the same essential oils as the body wash. It’s such a lovely oil that melts into the skin without leaving an oily residue. I especially like to use it before bed as I wake up the next day with skin smoother than a baby’s asssssssssssss.
Now an eye cream shouldn’t really be a “pampering only” product, but I honestly always forget to apply it every day, unless it’s the weekend. Bad Steph! For when my under eye area needs a little perking up, I use the Wonder Eye Cream which is also a part of the Balance Me man’dem. You know I loves me some coconut oil and this cream has looooooads so it’s good’un.
I need to make a slight amendment for the next product as I took these photos a couple of weeks ago. I have since stopped using the Bioderma Hydrabio Serum as my skin has broken out in a pretty grotesque rash since using it. The serum boasts its main ingredient ‘hyaluronic acid’ which is known for being amazing for dry skin. During the times I used the serum, it did seem to moisturise my skin and make it soft, however I think I may have an allergy to the acid itself as my skin has also reacted negatively to another product that contained the same acid. A shame!
I have spoken about my love for the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm in a previous post, it’s a gorgeous thick, creamy balm that stays put all night and keeps the lips extremely soft and lovely. I’ve started taking off my makeup with the Eucerin DermatoCLEAN Micellar cleansing fluid which is a 3 in 1 cleanser for sensitive skin types. I love a good multi use product. I’m lazy you see. I need something that does all the work. ^_^
For the days in the evening when I can’t be arsed to slather on some oil after bathing, I use Kniepp’s Soft Skin Almond Blossom bath oil which smells amazing and manages to spread its light almond fragrance around the house. It’s pretty intensive and manages to moisturise the body while bathing. Good times.
I could probably say without a shadow of a doubt that the Rituals Himalaya Wisdom salt scrub is the best scrub i’ve ever used thus far. So much so that I can’t even find traces of it for sale online due to this particular product becoming sold out almost every time (I literally had to scrape the shelves to find the last one on display at the Debenhams beauty hall on Oxford St!). I did however, manage to find a seller on Amazon luckily. Everything from the scent, to the texture of the scrub, right down to its exfoliational (officially a new word as decreed by moi ^_^) properties. It contains fresh mint, hence the cooling, peppermint aroma, olive oil and basil. I would recommend this if you can find it!!
Excuse the tatty label. This baby has been inside my bag for the longest time as I love using it at work as well as at home. The Margaret Dabbs Intensive Treatment Foot Oil is a lovely dry oil that moisturises feet and keeps the soles supple and soft. After applying the oil, I’ll normally pop on some cotton socks and drift off to sleep. It has a lovely minty fresh scent too.
I’ve posted about The Body Shop’s Overnight Serum in oil in an earlier post here – I apply the oil on top of my eye cream and let it really sink into my skin. It haven’t done me wrong yet!
