As a little Christmas treat to myself, I decided to purchase L’Occitane’s Almond Shower Oil as it had been on my wishlist (which I swore not to touch until next year – FAIL) for a while now. Since we are in the Winter months, it seemed like the perfect moisturising addition to my current skincare regimen.

The shower gel is a water-activated gel which quickly starts to form a gentle foam once united with water. It has a light scent of Almond, with the oil forming a hydrating barrier on the skin after showering.

As someone with dry skin, I always welcome products that are oil-especial nut oil based as my skin just seems to soak it up! The shower oil can be used on its’ own or with a sponge – however I prefer to use it with an exfoliating glove.
The oil feels and smells very luxurious and leaves my skin feeling well moisturised, smooth and hydrated; unlike some other shower gels that end up leaving my skin quite tight and irritable after a shower. I combine the shower gel with a good shea/cocoa butter afterwards as I feel that nut oils are the best oils for those with sensitive and/or dry skin. This is something I would definitely repurchase – it’s a must have for the shower!
L’Occitane also do a Almond Supple Skin Oil which i’m dying to try out too.

    I love this its lovely!

  2. I've started using this and it has really helped my skin stay soft and moisturised. I hadn't thought of using it with an exfoliating glove though, I'll have to try that! I also follow up with Shea butter products too as they definitely seem to be the best thing for my skin at this time of year xx

I recently got this for Xmas and I am really liking it, I only got a little one but I might buy the full size when it finishes, I see what the hype is about now! 🙂
