Hey yall! It’s been a hot minute since I last did a post, what with a certain British Telecommunications company (who shall not be named) messing up my broadband for a over a week! But I’m back and finally all can be right with the world.

Today I’ll be having a little chat about the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette, (£20 for 0.49oz)
The Urban Decay Naked Flushed* palette includes a bronzer (described as a medium sheer bronze satin), highlighter (described as a soft pink champagne shimmer) and a blush (described as a dusty rose satin with a hint of shimmer). I was very curious to see how these shades would translate on my darker skintone as they are not the normal colours I would normally use, not counting the fact that I’ve never used a bronzer before!
Bronzer: The bronzer is a medium tan with orange-brown undertones and has a very slight sheen. The texture is one that can only be described as firm; not specifically dry or powdery and thus was the best out of the three in terms of application. Because the colour is lighter than my skin tone, it didn’t really show up when applying and because of its warm, orange undertones, I believe it’ll best compliment those with warmer complexions.
Highlighter: I’ll be the first to admit that I hardly ever use highlighters (mostly because I actually don’t know HOW to use them) and so when using this, I did have a tendency to be quite heavy handed! The highlighter is a champagne beige with a frosted, metallic finish. In the palette, it looks sheer but looks very frosty when applied on the skin. One thing I will say is that a little goes an EXTREMELY long way! Like I said, I was extremely heavy handed and at one point ended up going out looking like i’d just been freshly vagazzled. =/
Blush: The blush is a medium-dark rosy pink with a hint of a rosy warmth that is mostly matte in the finish. Though there are some bits of shimmer, the blush is quite matte and tends to apply a bit on the drier side on my cheeks and I found that it didn’t blend into my skin as well as other powder blushes.
The shades can be used individually or can be blended all together as desired. I think I need to practise a bit more with the bronzer to see what else  I can do with it; a translucent powder perhaps? Although a bit on the dry side, I do really love the colour of the blush and found that the pigmentation lasted on my skin for about 7 hours before it started to fade.
I know that the palette is designed to work with all skin tones, however in regards to the blush, I’m not sure it will as it’s extremely sheer and light. The highlighter has the tendency to be harsh if used heavily but when applied (with an eyeshadow brush for instance along the brow line and on the top of the cheekbone) it looks rather lovely!

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette

  1. Finally a review with somebody whom is the same color as me!! I have been wondering about this palette for a while now but wasn't sure how the color payoff would be. Im very excited to try the bronzer since i have warm undertones. Thanks for the review!

  2. Imo says:

    So pretty Steph x

  3. I'm glad you were able to get some color to show up in swatching them, but this pallete did nothing for me. I could not get the colors to show up even remotely. Nor is this pallete universally flattering. I'm a black woman with caramel skin and a lot of corral undertones. This pallete disappointed me. 🙁
