I won’t lie; I jumped on the teddy trend quite late tbh. The Teddy Bear coat trend has been in full effect over the past two A/W seasons as a tried-and-tested cold weather staple. The fabric isn’t quite faux fur, neither is it faux shearling. It’s texture is more akin to the old teddy bear you used to snuggle up with as a child, hence…the name obvs.
As one of the more practical fashion trends I can get behind, they combine all the softness and warmth of a faux fur coat without the unflattering fit of a puffa jacket. They’re soft to the touch and suit most body types. Now, seeing as global warming has decided to show her face this week, I won’t suggest wearing Teddy pieces anytime soon, with the exception of a randomly super freezing day. Myself and Kaye shot these images on a *Super Hot Day* so yeah…it was an interesting, hot shoot!

Now, I saw this Teddy two-piece on Pretty Little Thing and my eyes were drawn to it immediately. Why? I guess I just like a challenge. I’d never seen a tracksuit two piece using this fabric before, and decided to see if I could give it a little style! I teamed the outfit with my favourite orange crop top (which I bought from Primark 5 AND A HALF YEARS ago btw) and my Vans hi-tops for that SoCal, laid back feel.
While somewhat inappropriate to wear this summer, they make excellent loungewear pieces when you’re chilling at home or running errands. Style note: the jacket fits true to size, but size down at least twice for the jogging bottoms – I’m wearing a size down from my normal size here (which is a UK size 22 on bottom) and it’s still hella baggy and quite long, so take heed!
Also: Dear Pretty Little Thing, when are you going to give me a call to shoot a plus size campaign?! LEWK @ THESE LOOKS.
