It’s National Organic Month y’all!

Started by the Soil Association, National Organic Month is an annual campaign that encourages people to make small changes to their purchasing habits and aims to raise the awareness of buying genuine organic products.
More and more people are buying organic products: a recent report from the Soil Association showed that spending on organic products increased by 4% in 2014, and research published by the Organic Monitor in 2016 showed that 90%(!!) of UK buyers had converted to buying organic health and beauty products primarily to avoid nasty chemicals.
I’ve been using organic products for years as I have quite sensitive skin and am allergic to quite a few of the chemicals used in non-organic/natural products. One product that I use consistently, regardless of the brand, is shea butter. I’ve spoken at length on my blog about the WONDERS of shea butter (you can check out previous posts here and here) and if you are someone who has dry/dehydrated skin, I’d definitely recommend it.

Enter Esocare

Esocare is a natural skincare brand owned by Ghanaian wellness coach, Luna Afriyie and the brand specialises in body care and has three champion products: shea butter, coconut oil and organic black soap.
The shea butter derives from Ghana (woop!) and is 100% unrefined in its purest form, in order to make sure that none of the health benefits of the butter is lost during production.

You get 250ml of product and trust me when I say that a little goes a very long way. If you have combination or oily skin, this may not be the product for you as it *can* get a bit greasy, but for those of us with dry ass skin, our body will soak this up. The product is of a very thick consistency and it needs to be rubbed in/worked into the skin for a bit as it melts. One thing I’ve always not liked about shea butter is the smell; it may be a personal thing for me, but it’s a very pungent smell and takes some getting used to. I’ve heard that some people like it though so it’s perhaps down to personal preference!
If you suffer from eczema, try giving this a go as it has been proven to reduce the appearance of eczema scars and marks!
