LoveOrganics

I mentioned on my blog a few weeks ago that I had the pleasure of being invited to the Mad Hatters’ Tea party with US organic skincare brand One Love Organics. After exclusively using the products for about 3 weeks now, I think it’s pretty safe to share my findings with you guys and tell you what’s what.

So first, a little background on the brand. One Love Organics is a brand which uses very simple and organic ingredients (which are preservative-free) within their products; with their approach being that one can achieve so much more with less. I’ve always been a big believer in the ‘more is less’ approach to skincare; If I can’t eat/digest it in some way, shape or form, then I don’t want it going on my face – luckily, One Love share this same sentiment.

I was kindly given a few of their most popular products to try. Note that all of the products in the range are available in a mini ‘discovery’ size, which I think is really good for those who want to get to try the products, but don’t want to shell out coins on the full sized item just yet.

Let me also state that the packaging is simply adorable! I’m getting an ethereal, shabby chic/retro vibe due to the medicinal brown jars, pastel colours and handwritten fonts. It looks so pretty on a dressing table too!

Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm
I’ve never used any sort of beauty balm previous to this so I didn’t know what to expect. This balm can be used one of three ways; as a cleanser, moisturiser and also as a custom treatment foundation.

Notable ingredients: Virgin coconut oil, sweet soy seed oil, beeswax, mango butter, chia seed extract, orange peel wax, vitamin E oil and oat extract.

I’ve always preferred water-based cleansers as I don’t like feeling an oily based residue on my skin, so I did find the balm a bit heavy and hard to take off at times. I much prefer using it as a moisturiser; I use it on top of the Morning Glory serum at night and in the morning, my face is extremely soft. I think in the future I will figure out a way to use the balm as a cleanser, but for the moment, it is a tad bit too rich for me. I reckon it’ll be great for those with extremely dry and dehydrated skin.  | Full size: £52, Discover size: £27.00 |

Morning Glory Brightening Complexion Booster
This little serum is the standout star for me within the range. I love this stuff! I’m actually trying to ration it out so that come Winter when my complexion goes a bit dull, I can use some of this to brighten it up. Think of it as ‘caffeine for skin’; it contains Raspberry leaf which is full of polypeptides and niacin and they work to stimulate, tighten and tone the skin. It also contains Omega 3 oils which help smooth the appearance of fine lines and help shield the skin from everyday environmental damage.

Notable ingredients: Ylang Ylang, peppermint, organic lemon balm, organic sweet mint, organic raspberry leaf.

I’ve seen physical changes in my skin since using this; this is a big thing for me as previous to this, I only really used either rosehip oil or my beloved avocado and rosehip oil by Antipodes.
My skin looks a lot brighter and feels a lot more hydrated – thumbs up from me!

Brand New Day Microderma Scrub & Masque
I always tended to avoid products with the name ‘microderma’ in it, as it drums up images of scratched and inflammed skin, redness and chemicals, however I was pleasantly surprised when I started using this a the powder granules are very fine and reminds me of the consistency of flour. You can use it as either a scrub or a mask; it all depends on how much water you add to the mixture.

Notable ingredients:  Corn starch, sweet pea flour, pineapple fruit extract.

As a mask, it’s lovely. I leave it on for about 10 minutes before washing off and my face feels very clean and fresh. It’s also pretty nifty as a scrub too and is gentle enough to be used everyday. It also smells like sherbet, which is a plus in my book! | Full size: £34.00 | Discover size: £9.00 |

The prices start from around £9.00 for the discover versions – on a whole, it is pretty pricey but you really do get what you pay for. I’m generally a frugal person, but I will always invest heavily on things that improve my well being; skin included. The quality of ingredients included are awesome and I only wished I’d done a before and after pic so you guys could really see the changes in my skin.

Thumbs up!
