Having run out of my day moisturizer a few weeks ago, I thought I’d shop around and try a few other creams to see what suited me. As much as I love shea/coconut butter, the warmer weather just doesn’t agree with these two ingredients and it ends up making my face very oily and heavy so I tend to opt for lighter options during this time.
I remember reading a post on
Jane’s blog some time back about the launch of a new skincare range by Superdrug entitled the B. collection. I love Superdrug’s own Vitamin E range so I thought I would give one of their creams a go.
The B. Collection consists of three different skincare phases, depending on your age. The Phase 1 range is intended for those between the ages of 20-30 and includes the day cream, B.Nourished Night Serum and B.Energized Eye Cream. Phase 1 is known to contain high concentrations of well-known ingredients that are allegedly proven to work to enhance the skin’s youthful appearance and to help protect against the signs of ageing.
The three main ingredients of the day cream are:
Niacinamide: Evens skin tone and helps to prevent blemishes
Glycofilm: A plant-based ingredient that protects aginst free radicals
Hyaluronic Acid: Holds more water than any other natural substance, helping to keep skin moisturized.
The texture of the cream is wonderfully thick, sorta like double cream. This is great for me as I have dry skin that loves to drink up heavy products. It has a lovely cooling effect and sinks straight in without leaving a greasy residue. I can’t comment on the scent at the moment (I have AWFUL heyfever at the moment and have literally temporarily lost my sense of smell 🙁 ) but upon first sniff, it vaguely reminded me of Pond’s Cold Cream.
My face stays moisturized all day and I have noticed a slight improvement on the blemishes underneath my eyes. A fairly decent cream to say the least. Although it strays out of my organic/natural comfort zone, it does what it says on the tin and provides my skin with all day moisture – you can’t ask for more than that.
I must say though that B. are certainly on point with the packaging. It feels very luxr; coming in a gorgeous double-glazed glass jar with the cream being held in almost a vial. I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t the first thing that caught my attention. Gorgeous!
The product is not tested on animals (yay!), suitable for vegetarians and vegans and does not contain parabens.

It really does look very luxe! I like that they've separated the products into phases – I didn't know that before reading this post. .xo
