I bet you right now if you were to ask a group of  beauty aficionados what one of their favourite multi-purpose cosmetic products were, I guarantee at least one of them would mention the now iconic product that is the Eight Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden. Developing cult status within the early 2000s, the Eight Hour Cream range from Elizabeth Arden has been a fave and a staple for thousands of people due to it’s ultra moisturizing ingredients and for it’s versatile ability to be used for…practically anything. From chapped lips to bug bites, shaving cuts to dry hands and from skin rashes to mustache balm (yes, really!), the cream does it all and has been a personal favourite of mine, which is why I was so excited when I heard about the All Over Miracle Oil. If it’s one thing I know really well, it’s a moisturising oil. Let’s talk about it.

What have we got?

The Elizabeth Arden All Over Miracle Oil comes in a plastic 100ml bottle and is a new oil formulation which can be used on the face, on the hair and on the body. The oil has been clinically proven to moisturise for up to 12 hours.

Ok so, what does it do?

Primarily, you can use this oil as a means to moisturise your face, hair and body, essentially. However it does have other uses such as; promoting shine to hair, softening cuticles, reducing dry and rough skin, being used as a massage oil, aromatherapy use and as a post shave moisturizer.

Hmm. Sounds awesome, but the ingredients?

Yes, the ingredients. The main ingredients are Tsubaki Oil, ginger root extract, grape seed oil, Olive, Avocado and Sunflower seed oil.  All great oils that help to hydrate and moisturise hair and skin. The newbie on the list for me personally however, is the Tsubaki Oil. Now this oil (commonly known as Camellia oil) originates from Japan and is allegedly the preferred oil used in beauty rituals by the Geishas. The oil
is rich in oleic acid and vitamins A, B, D and E as well as Omegas 3, 6 and 9. The molecular weight of this oil is almost the same as our skin, allowing it to absorb thoroughly and quickly and has more naturally occurring antioxidants than almost any other botanically derived oil.

My thoughts

If you’ve been a long time reader of my blog, you’ll probably know by now that I love a good body oil. As I have dry skin, I tend to only use oils or heavy nut butters to moisturise with, and initially seeing the ingredients in this product gave me high hopes for a good turnout. And boy does it not disappoint.
The oil is quite dry and sinks into the skin on impact, leaving a sweet smelling fragrance and a subtle sheen on the skin. There is no tightness once applied and I find that I don’t need to use a lot for my skin to feel moisturised, which is awesome for me as I usually shower twice a day and wouldn’t want to run out too quickly! The oil is so light that I have even started using this on my face underneath my night moisturiser before I go to bed and have found it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft.
This product is great for all skin types, but I think you’ll definitely get more benefit out of this if you have dry/combination skin like me. My hair also seems to like the oil also; I rub a little into my scalp before I blow dry my hair and it almost feels like i’m giving my hair a hot oil treatment. Now I don’t normally say this as I like to give a fair review and talk about the pros and cons but to be honest, I cannot fault this product. I’d absolutely (and will absolutely) buy this again and literally use it for ALL THE THINGS. 5 star!
