I feel like I haven’t done a proper skin/makeup post for years!

Anyhoo, I’m a real sucker for organic skincare products; although I already have a skincare routine, I’m always on the lookout for new products to test and combine with my normal routine, which is why I was incredibly excited to use Forest Secret’s skincare line; it’s USP being that you can mix and match their products depending on your skin’s needs.

The Skinny:
Forest Secrets is a line of facial serums which can be used as a base for make up, or by itself in place of your normal day/night facial moisturizer. The pack above ( a travel pack) contains a trifecta of 2ml vials (or bottles, but ‘vial’ sounds more froufrou. 😎

  • Green – iRejuvenate Serum: Nourishes and hydrates the skin.
  • Amber – iRejuvenate Elixir: Concentrated anti-fatigue facial oil which brightens skin
  • Purple – iBright Serum: Anti-blemish oil to even skin pigmentation.
You can use any of these oils by itself or you can use the dipper provided to mix two or more of the oils.
Presentation:
The serum comes in a standard size of 15ml, however the travel size pack comes presented in a recycled bright green box with the vials stored in triangular casing and a little booklet underneath. It’s actually quite cute!
Experience/Usage:
I began using the products twice a day for a week (with today being day eight) and I have seen a slight change. The products are HIGHLY concentrated so no more than a drop or two of each would be more than sufficient.
I frequently used the iBright serum and iRejuventate together in the morning, and the iBright in the evening. The consistency is as you would expect; oily of course but with a watery base which was good as I didn’t want to be walking around looking like I was sweating. 😎
My skin, especially around my T-zone, has brightened up considerably however it doesn’t do much in regards to moisturizing dry skin. When first applied, it actually feels amazing; velvety and really soft but then it wears out by the end of the day which can be quite annoying.

Ingredients:
Silybum marianum (Milk thistle) seed oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) kernel oil*, Brassica campestris (Brassica rapa), Prunus armenica (Apricot) kernel oil*, Linum usitatissimum (Flaxseed) oil, Rosa canina (Rosehip) fruit oil*, Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil, Trichilia emetica (Mafura) seed butter**, Parfum (purely form plants), Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) flower Extract, Simondisa chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle)

Price:
You can get the bigger versions of the vials (15ml) at £35 each, or buy two for £70.
Conclusion:
I really like how the product feels on my skin when first applied, however it wears off during the day and for £15 a bottle, I would expect much more from a natural product. I will however, use them as the base for my makeup as it provides quite a smooth base. I think these products would be great for people with combination/oily skin but for dry skin, I wouldn’t recommend it.
This leads me to ask:
What products do you use for your skin and why?
