I’ve always been pretty basic when it comes to outerwear; blacks, navy blues and browns have always been the staple colour and within my comfort zone, however due to new-found confidence and the ongoing quest to discover and try as many prints and colours as possible, I decided in this instance to nab myself a bright red coatigan by new plus size brand, Studio8*.
So a bit about the brand; Studio8 is the plus size sister line of formal wear brand, Phase 8, who are known for making incredible formal pieces. Sizes for Studio8 are from size 16 to size 24 and include chic contemporary basics to flat out gorgeous formal sparkly dresses. In keeping with my current theme of bright colours (and floral prints obvs), I opted for the Martha Coatigan which I feel is a great go-between coat for the random bouts of weather we are currently getting. The Martha coatigan has a textured material with a subtle floral pattern light embossed all over and is a bright, postbox red.
I was a tad anxious about wearing such a bright colour but now I have grown to love it! The fit is pretty true to size, however because I have pretty huge arms, it is a tad tight around that area but it’s nothing that causes that much of an issue to be honest. It’s quite warm so I can see myself getting a lot of wear from this from October onwards and I just love the tailoring and how the coat fits on me. With the coat I’ve worn my lemon yellow Primark scalloped top, along with my favourite ASOS Ridley Jeans and these leopard-print sandals from Yours Clothing which are mega comfy.

I love this look, the combination of red and yellow looks amazing – and very appropriate for the season! I’m seriously considering buying the Ridley jeans now, I’ve seen so many bloggers who look amazing in them. xx
I’m in love with this outfit. Such wonderful colours. I esp love the pink? fushia? coat with the yellow top. I would so wear these colours. 🙂
