“A scent needs to reflect all the different facets of my personality…it had to be elegant, glamorous, sophisticated, sexy, dark and mysterious.”

Adjectives that certainly describe the alluring Queen of Burlesque herself, Dita Von Teese’s self-named fragrance released in 2011 embodies the spirit of the ‘Femme Totale’ – elegance, confidence, mystery and glamour. The black glass bottle design is inspired by the vintage style of the 1930s and I can’t tell you guys how long I have wanted to own a fragrance with its own ball atomiser! *spritzes for no reason.* The neck of every bottle is adorned with a silk cord held in place by a nail-polish red pearl which flows into a long black silk tassel.
The Scent
The fragrance opens with fresh bergamot, peony and Bourbon pepper. The heart of Bulgarian Rose, Tahitian         tiare flower and jasmine is placed on a warm base of incense, patchouli, musk and sandalwood.
The scent is quite bold and certainly not for the faint hearted. It could almost get away with being a men’s perfume as it does pack quite a ‘punch’ but the scent mellows out throughout the day. I personally love it! It’s certainly an acquired taste as there are a fair few strong scents that have been mixed together but if I could bottle up “Confidence” as a perfume, this would be it!
The fragrance was released exclusively to Liberty last year for a limited time, however you can purchase it here!:
