Drop waist dresses are coming back.

I noticed during the start of summer that drop waist dresses were slowly beginning to infiltrate their ways back into the ‘New In’ sections of a lot of plus-size collections. When this trend appeared on the scene in 2015, a lot of us were a bit dumbfounded; how were we supposed to wear this cut? Will the dropped waist style suit our body type? How can we rock a dress that flares out at an awkward angle?
Piggybacking off of the flapper dress cut, drop waist dresses offer a relaxed approach to formal wear. Delpozo and Victoria Beckham have shown exaggerated versions of the drop waist during the last few seasons, with brands such as ASOS Curve, Simply Be and Elvi releasing their stylish versions over the course of this summer. Drop waist dresses are the perfect transitional pieces to take you from the office to after-work drinks and suit ALL bodies.

1. This style is a very relaxed fit, so they can be worn with practically anything. Wear with hi-top vans and a bomber jacket for a chilled, weekend vibe, or with some smart heels and a mid length coat for something a bit more formal.
2. The number one issue most women have with this style is if the cut would be flattering or not. If this is of a major concern to you, I would suggest sizing up, as an oversized style also works. Personally, I tend to wear things whether they flatter me or not. What’s most important is that you feel comfortable and that you wear pieces unapologetically!
