In today’s post I thought I would share with you guys my favourite scents over the past couple of years and hopefully give you an idea of what sort of fragrance to buy a loved one this year!
Personally I love receiving perfume gift sets as opposed to the perfume on its own (greedy me!) as then I have the chance to layer the scent with the accompanying scented lotion for more fragrance depth and longevity. Luckily, The Perfume Shop have a vast array of different fragrance sets on offer within their Christmas Shop and not all of the sets come with an accompanying scented lotion; some come with other accessories such as a compact mirror (Guilty by Gucci comes with this) or even a mascara! It’s always good to have a little variety with gift scents as I know that not everyone likes or uses scented lotions for everyday use.
So onto my perfume picks as illustrated in the collage above:
Perfect for…a work colleague – Emporio Armani Diamonds
Whether it’s a collaborative gift for her birthday or you’re in the giving mood for Xmas, you really can’t go wrong with this scent. Notes include lychee, raspberry, rose and lily, making it an exceptionally fruity scent and an overall crowd pleaser. The bottle is really lovely too and it’s not too expensive, making it the perfect gift for your BFF at work!
Perfect for…your Mum/Aunt– Jean Paul Gaultier Classique
Now this scent is an absolute CLASSIC. I know my Mum LIVED for this scent back in the 90s and she’s since passed this on to me. The bottle is absolutely beautiful and pretty retro and the scent is uber feminine, featuring notes of rose, orange flower, patchouli and vanilla. The set comes with a shower gel and lotion and would be ideal for layering for a an evening out.
Perfect for…her first ‘proper’ fragrance – Lacoste Touch of Pink
I remember receiving my first ‘adult’ perfume when I was around 13 or so and I believe at that time I received a Lacoste fragrance too. You really can’t go wrong with this brand as their fragrances are fun, energetic, light, fresh and serve as a great introduction for young girls. The notes of cardamom and peach gives the scent a very subtle-sweet aroma and the set comes with a body lotion too and is a steal at only £24.99.
Perfect for…your bezzie mate/girlfriend – Marc Jacobs Decadence
This scent is the new baby on the block and is a scent that has intrigued me for a while. At first I didn’t know what to make of the scent as it does smell a bit musky when you first put it on, however I have come to fall in love with the scent. Notes include Amber, Plum, Saffron and Bulgarian Rose and has a very woody, yet spicy scent. It is a very heavy and sexual scent(if you get what I mean) and would be perfect for a girlfriend (NOT THAT I’M DROPPING ANY HINTS OR ANYTHING BABE, I KNOW YOU READ MY BLOG SOMETIMES -ahem..) or a best mate. The packaging and bottle is gorgeously seductive and the colour scheme of bottle green and gold just screams indulgence. I need!
Perfect for…floral fiends like myself – Gucci Guilty
Oh I love a good bit of floral, me! My favourite scents mostly comprise of floral and slightly spicy scents and Guilty by Gucci does not disappoint. Notes include Jasmine, Mandarin, Lilac and Peach and has a very airy, fresh scent that still carries a lot of depth, similar to Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf. The compact mirror and bottle just screams opulence and glamour and lasts for quite a while on the skin.

I hope this brief list has been helpful! Have any ideas yet? What are your favourite scents?
