I love a good serum I do! Over the past three years, I have tried dozens and dozens of different serums; night serums, day serums, hydrating serums, mattifying serums, you name it I’ve tried it. They are a huge part of my skincare regime as they benefit my skin a lot more than normal moisturising creams do and so I am thrilled to be talking to you guys today about the Hyaluronic Serum from Pestle & Mortar. Pestle & Mortar is a beauty and wellness family owned company who are passionate about providing easy-to-use products which can be accessible for those of all skin types and ethnicities.

Let’s talk about the packaging though. Isn’t it gorgeous?! I’m a sucker for crisp, simple, minimalist and clean packaging and both the inner and outer packaging ticks all the boxes for me. It’s the type of bottle that would sit pride of place on my dressing table (if I had one!).
At the moment, the Hyaluronic Serum is the flagship product for the brand. “What is Hyaluronic serum?” I hear you ask, well the serum is a commercially available form of Hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring acid (1000% more dense than water) synthesised within our skin cells. It’s primary responsibility is to maintain the oil-water equilibrium of the dermal tissue and helps to provide hydration and nourishment to the skin.
The serum is said to ‘hydrate and sooth even the most sensitive of skin while smoothing fine lines, proving elasticity and producing a healthy, even glow’ and is also free of animal derived raw materials, organic solvent remnants, not tested on animals and paraben free; good times.
The product itself is clear, extremely lightweight and actually feels like water on the skin; my skin loves this stuff, let me tell you! It is advised to use between 2-4 drops on clean skin, however I use 1-2 drops as I find it more than enough for me. Sometimes I’ll use it on its own, or for extra moisture I use it with a day/night cream. The serum sinks straight into my skin upon contact and I love using it during the night as my skin feels so hydrated, refreshed and pumped the next morning.
The serum is great for all skin tones and can also be used as a makeup primer if need be. I’ve normally had issues with hyaluronic acid in the past as it would tend to break me out in horrible rashes, but this serum is just fantastic; it seems to be just the right balance of acid for my skin and with continued use, I’m hoping that I’d be able to see more benefits and improvement!
Pure Hyaluronic Serum is available now from Pestle & Mortar Skincare.
