It’s not often that I fall in love with a fragrance at first smell; mostly because I’m a tad picky when it comes to fragrances and have very few as I rarely find ones that scream *me*, however, I have to admit that this fragrance; it…it got me.
Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y EDP (75ml) is an earthy, yet floral fragrance that has been a fan favourite for a few years now. The scent was created in 2012 by Stella as it reminded her of her childhood years growing up in the countryside. Despite the name, the fragrance doesn’t have a strong lily scent at all; the anagram actually stands for ‘Linda I Love You‘, a nickname Paul McCartney would give to Stella’s mother, Linda.
The fragrance to me is Spring wrapped up in a neat little bow. With notes of tuber, pepper, pink pepper and musk, the fragrance has a strong earthy presence, with the underlying floral scents of patchouli and lily bringing it together. It almost reminds me of being in the woods on a hot day; extremely fresh and very calming.
The crystal bottle is also very aesthetically pleasing too and would look great on any dressing table! Going back to the fragrance though – because of the heavy earthy notes, I feel like this is a scent that would be worn all year round as opposed to just spring. All in all, the scent is beautiful. in terms of longevity, I would say that it is perhaps a medium, wearing off after about 4 hours or so.
A stunning fragrance if you are into spring, floral scents! At Fragrance Direct, you can currently get £30 off the RRP and free shipping over £20 so if you’re looking for your spring fragrance, now would be the time to act!
